‘Hands’ is a new home improvement service. Customers order services as in an online store and know the work cost in advance. Bureau Gorbunov came up with a name, dynamic logo, and branded slogans.
The dynamic logo, which is also the application icon, changes depending on what kind of repair is to be made. Руки (pronounced “roo‑kee”) is Russian for ‘hands’:
First you look for a handyman on the internet or through friends, then you bargain for each rouble fearing to be cheated, then during the repair you are afraid to leave your apartment and worry whether everything will be done well and whether the handyman will ask for more money. Many people find it easier to tolerate a leaking toilet than to search for a trustworthy handyman.
Hands remove the need to look for a handyman, bargain, and worry about quality of the result. The customer simply chooses the type of work from the catalog, answers the clarifying questions, and learns the final cost. At the appointed time the Hands’s home improvement guy comes and makes the repairs, no surprises.
Branded slogans speak to the Russian soul:
Hands partners are the retail chain Leroy Merlin and the manufacturer of bathroom equipment Grohe: the goods bought in their stores are installed by Hands. In 2019, Hands are planning to triple in size.
